Mission Mission Mission Statement
To provide, through the
direction of the Mayor and City Council of the City of St.
Marys, legal service, guidance, and representation for the
City by serving the functions of advocate and adviser.
About the Legal Department
The Legal Department does
not provide legal advice or services to citizens of St.
Marys or the general public. The Legal Department is
limited to providing legal advice, counsel, and
representation to the Mayor, City Council members, City
officials and departments in all matters regarding the City
of St. Marys, Georgia. However, the Legal Department
continually works to ensure the citizens’ best interests,
safety, and quality of life are a top priority.
As adviser, the City Attorney reviews all contracts, ordinances,
resolutions, acts in an advisory capacity on the Board of Ethics,
and serves as parliamentarian during City Council Meetings.
